Organizational Overview:

This role will be with the Storage & Backup Team which is part of the Infrastructure Services Team in the CTO organization.

  • The Storage & Backup team is responsible for the design, engineering, and operation of the Storage & Backup products, services & Apps to all the Synchrony Applications OnPrem and in the Cloud.

  • This includes, but is not limited to,  Architecture & Design related to onboarding of new Storage & Backup product services onprem and in the cloud. Integrations to support Automation, DEVOps &, VOICE, Network &  Converged teams related to Storage & Backup

Role Summary/Purpose: 

The AVP, Cloud Technology Storage & Backup Engineer will be responsible for Standards creation, gathering, planning, and managing the cloud engineering activities, POCs, assessments, automation and requirements. This role will coordinate and collaborate with other agile and scaled agile teams including other cloud product owners and application owners to ensure all cloud storage and backup requirements and timing are aligned with the cloud program roadmaps. This AVP will partner with the Infrastructure Technology Program office to manage product features and roadmaps to ensure the successful delivery and adoption of cloud storage & backup products.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with the Infrastructure Program leaders and technology teams to maintain and deliver on the Infrastructure Storage & Backup Program strategy

  • Maintain the Infrastructure Storage & Backup Program portfolio features and epics

  • Subject matter expert on cloud storage & backup services for any new requests for Cloud applications and migrations.

  • Able to be hands on keyboard for automation across cloud storage & backup services.

  • Develop controls and reporting to ensure storage and backup services are in compliance with standards 

  • Design, implement and test data recovery procedures for cloud services

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external vendors, including engineering, data, governance, infrastructure, to define and manage the requirements and dependencies to ensure successful product development and delivery

  • Map out project dependencies to inform the necessary sequence of development and align with wave plans and roadmaps

  • Communicate and facilitate effectively across diverse audiences within and outside of the Agile Team (program peers, key stakeholders, executives and clients)

  • Partner closely with technology program leaders and the Office of Agile  

  • Coach Agile behavior, leading by example

  • Facilitate Agile Ceremonies: Scrum of Scrums, PO Syncs, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Planning, Demos/Reviews, Retrospectives, and release planning

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Required Skills/Knowledge: 

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of IT experience or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma / GED and 7+ years of Product / Project Management experience in the credit card, financial services, or technology industries 

  • Minimum 4+ years Product / Project Management experience in the credit card, financial services, or technology industries 

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in enterprise Storage Background in DELL, Netapp, Pure.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in enterprise Cloud Backup Experience such Rubrik, Cohesity, DD/VE or Avamar/VE.

  • AWS Certifications/training.

  • Azure Certifications/training.

  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban)  

  • Action oriented – create an environment to leverage agile methodology and deliver continuous benefit to the business teams during the project 

  • Proven experience in problem solving and negotiating solutions

Desired Skills/Knowledge: 

  • SAFe Product Owner/Product Manager Certification is a plus

  • Enterprise Storage Background in DELL, Netapp, Pure would be a plus.

  • AWS Certifications/training a plus

  • Azure Certifications/training a plus

  • Enterprise Cloud Backup Experience such Rubrik, Cohesity, DD/VE or Avamar/VE would be a plus.

  • Strong Automation skills a plus

  • Technical Aptitude / background

  • Self-Starter with a strong work ethic

Eligibility Criteria: 

Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of IT experience or, in lieu of a degree, 7+ years of IT experience.

Work Timings: 6:30pm to 2:30am IST

(WORK TIMINGS: This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
