Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

This role is for a Product Owner of the Deposit Fraud Transformation SHIELD program, reporting to the VP, Consumer Bank Credit Leader.  The ideal candidate will have a strong Deposit Fraud prevention and agile project background with a proven track record of representing the business, partnering with cross-functional project teams, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leverage experience in the banking industry in the area of deposit fraud to elicit requirements and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders based on SHIELD roadmap and prioritization.  Craft & refine fraud user stories & requirements into actionable design and testing documents  

  • Develop, document & review user stories in JIRA as gathered by the developers & Fraud teams, perform the test criteria and approve that each story has passed all the test criteria.

  • Incorporate as relevant into fraud user stories specific rules associated with business processes that are being developed and create the test criteria to get the stories accepted.

  • Gather and convene key fraud & business resources as their expertise is required to develop or implement SHIELD.

  • Act as the Credit and Fraud Operations subject matter expert on the Digital Transformation SHIELD fraud projects; Attend daily, weekly meetings, PI (program increment) planning sessions and other as required

  • Actively engage in PI planning and Agile ceremonies as part of the SAFe framework to ensure consistent and efficient delivery by Agile developers, acting as tie-breaker as needed. 

  • Partner with key stakeholders such as IT, ECE, Digital, Operations, Compliance, Risk and 3rd party technology providers to help identify and prioritize ideas, new capabilities, deliverables, dependencies & risks.

  • Support Refinement & Execution on the SHIELD transformation Agile roadmap, prioritizing, scheduling, tracking and communicating on the implementation of Fraud features or any issues. 

  • Align with Credit Deposit leader and other product owners in Consumer Bank at a program level. 

  • Ensure strong communication and coordination to the “Front End” developer’s and teams, especially as changes in will impact “Front End” development efforts

  • Develop & maintain familiarity with industry bank fraud data & 3rd party data providers and how they are used for fraud decisioning

  • Use the DataVisor Fraud Machine learning platform to develop & implement deposit fraud strategies.

  • Familiar with Deposit mainframe and cloud technologies

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of fundamental Banking Deposit Fraud concepts and risks; preferred in Digital Banking

  • 2+ years of experience in process development and implementation using various applications such as Jira, Confluence, Visio, and MS Office tools to capture business & product user stories that require Fraud review and subsequently communicate Fraud requirements, design, approvals and implementation details to an audience of differing backgrounds.

  • 2+ years of demonstrated experience with key Agile development methodologies – such as define story acceptance criteria, manage and prioritize team backlog, collaboration with the Release Train Engineer, Scrum Master, System Architects, developers and other subject matter experts and contribution to the overall team vision

  • Ability to analyze both business and functional requirements, interpret and communicate accurately to various audiences.

  • Strong business acumen and ability to build strong relationships with customers.

  • Hands on experience with banking fraud solutions

  • 2+ years Experience with Retail/Corporate/Mobile Banking

  • 2+ years experience in working with API based solutions and integration of server-side analytics solutions

  • Bachelor's degree OR in lieu of degree; high school diploma/GED and 5+ years of digital/web fraud  product experience or 5+ years of IT Fraud experience

  • Cross functional team player with the ability to work seamlessly across a matrix organization

Desired Characteristics:

  • Expert knowledge of Banking Deposit Fraud; preferred in digital banking

  • Experience with Agile software development & tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence), preferably SAFe framework

  • High energy, self-motivated, with strong communication skills (verbal & written)

  • 3+ years of digital fraud and/or web/mobile product management experience with a minimum of 2 years of mobile/web development experience

  • Ability to translate complex objectives into smaller, easier to deliver features and enhancements

Grade/Level: 11

The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 – 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
