Job Description:
Roles Summary/Purpose:
Synchrony is hiring a VP, M&A Integration and Initiatives reporting to the SVP, Enterprise Initiatives leader in the Business Strategy and Development organization. This role will support the due diligence process and lead M&A integration and governance partnering closely with the Mergers & Acquisitions leadership team and other cross-functional stakeholders.
Essential Responsibilities:

Partner with the Mergers & Acquisition team to support due diligence process, define integration strategy and guiding principles, and manage comprehensive integration plan.

Support due diligence, manage data room(s), coordinate with target companies, manage data requests, track request execution, analyze data across functions to identify risks and gaps, plan and facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and create due diligence reports/dashboards.

Manage end-to-end integration for acquisitions, from pre-close planning through execution and stabilization.

Lead integration project management for each deal and oversee cross-functional workstreams.

Day 1 Readiness: partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure all critical "Day 1" requirements—such as payroll, communication, and basic Technology access—are met to maintain operational continuity.

Serve as the central point of accountability for integration planning, cross-functional interdependencies, sequencing, and progress, ensuring timelines and commitments are met.

Governance: ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and corporate governance policies and manage deal governance processes and reporting throughout the deal lifecycle.

Assess and effectively communicate integration progress, risks, and milestones to stakeholders, senior leaders, and integration/steering committees.

Manage or support broader enterprise and/or BS&D projects/initiatives

Present to and communicate with senior leadership across a matrixed organization

Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of equivalent work experience in the Financial Services or related field; OR in lieu of degree, High School Diploma / GED and 8+ years experience in Financial Services or related field

Minimum of 5 years project management experience managing multiple projects simultaneously

Minimum 3 years managing cross-functional initiatives

Proficient in the use of MS Office product suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint

Willingness to travel 20-30 %
-
Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required
Desired Characteristics:

Demonstrated experience with M&A due diligence and leading integration processes

Strong quantitative skills with experience creating data-driven recommendations and working on investment analyses

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with exceptional presentation skills and high emotional intelligence

Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple programs through a team-based approach in a fast-paced environment

Team player with experience and successful track record working in matrix environment with cross functional teams

Experience influencing senior leaders and stakeholders

Flexible, collaborative approach and positive attitude
Grade/Level: 12
The salary range for this position is 110,000.00 – 185,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.
Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.
Eligibility Requirements:

You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
