Legendary Careers At Synchrony

At Synchrony, we know that every career path is unique and highly personal. Some employees join us early in their journey, while others bring years of experience from elsewhere. No matter where they start, what matters most is how we support them along the way.
We’re honored that employees bring their best selves to work and have made such an impact on our customers and our company – some for decades. In the spirit of celebration, we launched the Synchrony Legends Club, which recognizes employees that have been with us for 35 years or more. This new tradition is anchored in gratitude for the individuals who exemplify our values and whose stories inspire our future. Whether employees are here 10 years or 50, we want to highlight the many people who choose Synchrony in a landscape of unlimited career choices.
Today, you’ll meet two incredible longtime Synchrony employees and explore some of the systems, relationships and values that have inspired them to stay: one who is a legend, and one who is a legend-in-the-making.
Decades of Impact
Angela M., Specialist, Consumer Banking, has spent the last 24 years at Synchrony, building meaningful relationships and making a difference for customers. One memory that stands out from her career is the time she helped a young couple with the financing that allowed them to furnish their home just in time for the arrival of their first child. “They were so thrilled, tears were flowing. The wife hugged me, thanking me. This experience has stayed with me,” says Angela, “moments like these remind me of the real impact we have on people’s lives.”
Angela also recalls a time when she had the chance to pay forward the culture of inclusion she’s felt from the beginning of her career. After noticing a new employee in the office, she struck up a conversation with her and found that they were going to be on the same team. Offering to sit next to her, show her the ropes and introduce her to the rest of the team, Angela remembers the woman thanking her because she had been nervous to start a new job. Angela ties it back to her professional development training that taught her to “how to be bold and be a leader throughout my career here.”
Angela also credited her long career at Synchrony to the flexibility that allowed her to send her kids off to school in the morning, pick them up after school and attend their school events. Then, when her kids were older, she took advantage of Synchrony’s education benefits to help send them to school and create lasting impact for her family.
Throughout her career at Synchrony, Angela has worked in different departments like the IRA back office, Investigations and Fraud. Angela has traveled across the U.S. and even to Canada for store openings, enabling her to build strong relationships with our customers while gaining valuable experience that has shaped her career.

Lori F., Senior Specialist, Surveillance, is Synchrony’s longest-tenured employee, having worked here for more than 50 years. She started at age 17 as part of a work development program after which she had planned to travel the country but instead applied for a full-time position at Synchrony. What started as a steppingstone grew into a meaningful career.
Lori says she’s stayed at Synchrony for more than 50 years for a multitude of reasons but one of those is that her work has been engaging and even fun. She recalls a time early in her career when she was able to travel to Synchrony’s headquarters to learn all about a new team she would be helping to build back at her home Hub. She says the experience of learning all of the positions and building that team was empowering and she felt supported to jump in completely.
One of the most impactful parts of Synchrony’s culture for Lori has been the flexibility. She says that if she ever needs to take time off, she can call her manager and be sure that everything will be handled at work. In fact, she was able to take time off of to help her son move to Florida. “I feel like senior leaders see the need for work/life balance, so it comes from the top,” she says.
Lori says that if she could go back and talk to her 17-year-old self, she would encourage herself to take advantage of tuition assistance and the flexible schedule. She hit roadblocks with her schooling early in her career, but with the flexibility she has now, she feels that the outcome could have been different.
