Synchrony gives back

Caring for our communities

Caring for our communities is a core tenet of our business and is weaved into the fabric of our work culture. From volunteering to donations to community engagement, we directly give back to the communities where we live and work.

Each November marks the beginning of our annual Season of Caring campaign where we match employee donations, organize service projects and encourage employees to take time to give back. Flip the cards to read last year’s Season of Caring results!

More than 1,000 of our employees spent upwards of 4,000 hours of time giving back during last year’s Season of Caring event.

We also care for our communities by ensuring a brighter future through education. Our Education as an Equalizer initiative expands access to higher education, skills training and financial literacy services for underserved communities as well as our employees. Through scholarships, mentorships, upskilling, grants and more, we’re creating a brighter future for those who need it.

Our commitment to corporate citizenship goes beyond words and is exemplified by each of our employees. Through our DoGood Program, for every 10 hours of eligible volunteer work, employees can designate a charity of their choice for a $100 donation from Synchrony. “Once you realize the impact you’re having, it’s addictive,” says Elizabeth Rhodes, Sr. Specialist, Surveillance and DoGood Volunteer program participant.

Synchrony employees take advantage of paid Volunteer Time Off (VTO) to give back. Last year, our employees gave more than 20,000 hours of their time to help their communities.
