Role Summary:
AVP, Analytics – TJX & JC Penney is responsible for analytical support of business and organizational priorities for TJX & JCPenney. This role will lead a team of analysts to deliver analytical projects that will drive profitable growth such as portfolio diagnostics, campaign and digital measurement, customer behavioral analysis, value prop measurement, segmentation, reporting, and special projects as required. This role will also work closely with US Analytics counterparts and Marketing, Finance, and Sales stakeholders in solving business problems with solutions that are powered by data and analytics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively discover, lead, and solve business problems through basic to advanced analytics/data science tools and techniques, as applicable
- Deliver hands-on, end-to-end projects by ensuring adherence to timely delivery, accuracy and documentation in line with Audit Procedures
- Lead strategic initiatives and analytic solutions building from planning to execution
- Act as a SME and business consultant, offer analytical and strategic thinking, understand business needs and requirements, be able to translate needs and requirements into data, data architecture, analytical insights and recommendations
- Partner cross-functionally with various stakeholder in a highly matrixed organization, working closely with Marketing, Sales, IT, Credit, and Finance, and multiple COE’s
- Provider guidance, support, and supervise offshore team members
- Utilize tools such as Adobe Analytics for digital measurement; Tableau for data visualization
- Utilize SAS/SQL to manipulate and analyze large datasets
Required Skills/Knowledge
- Bachelors Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or any other quantitative streams with 6+ years of relevant analytics experience. Minimum 8+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of specified degree preferably in financial services, retail, and/or ecommerce .
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on SQL and SAS programming experience; demonstrated ability to apply advanced algorithms and efficiently manage complex/large datasets.
- 2 years of experience with Python
- Minimum of 2 years of team management experience in a direct leadership capacity
- Be a hands-on leader who can pull data and lead complex projects
- Strong credit card P&L knowledge with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights.
- Hands-on capability with coding, Tableau, and multiple data sources Familiarity with statistical methods and tools such as decision trees, regression, segmentation, NLP, and GPT.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, ambiguity, and competing priorities.
- Experience synthesizing insights from structured analyses to inform business decisions and communicating with stakeholders in an effective manner
Desired Skills/Knowledge:
- Financial services industry experience in an analytical role is strongly preferred; credit card industry is desired.
- Experience with web analytics reporting tools (ie. Adobe/Google Analytics).
- Solid background on supporting product marketing and digital experience analytics
- Strong skill in project management, communications, multi-tasking, ability to work independently, and relationship management are keys to success
- Solid understanding of financial service industry financial P&L drivers and key sensitivities with business reporting experience. Credit card experience a plus
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Ability to digest and explain complex information to both external and internal clients
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment
- Quick learner who can grasp the core needs of the business and rapidly develop solutions
- Ability to foster teamwork and work well in a collaborative team and matrixed environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to influence and direct people outside of their reporting structure
- Demonstrated ability to partner with remote teams in India and the US
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Experience managing a team of analysts
Eligibility Criteria:
Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or any other quantitative streams with 6+ years of relevant analytics experience. Minimum 8+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of specified degree.
Work Timings:
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs)
