Organizational Overview
This role sits within the Chief of Staff (CoS) organization, a high-visibility function that works at the intersection of core India leadership and global teams. The CoS office drives strategy, operations, strategic communications, and flagship events, to ensure leadership effectiveness and narrative alignment across Synchrony’s key organizational priorities.
Role Summary
The Manager - Communications (L08) is a dual-mandate role acting as both the Chief Narrator and Brand Architect for the organization. You will be responsible for crafting high-stakes leadership narratives and executing a 360-degree branding strategy. From designing campaigns for flagship events to overseeing the physical brand presence (OOH and Office Branding), you will ensure Synchrony’s voice and visual identity remain premium, consistent, and impactful.
Key Responsibilities:
- Internal Communications & Employee Engagement
- Design and execute end-to-end internal communication strategies aligned to business priorities
- Drive omni-channel campaigns (emails, newsletters, intranet, digital screens)
- Create compelling employee-engagement content that simplifies complex narratives
- Ensure consistency of messaging and branding across functions and leadership levels
- Support engagement initiatives, flagship events, townhalls, and culture-building programs
- Executive & Leadership Communications & Thought Leadership
- Develop high-impact presentations and storytelling for senior leadership
- Draft speeches, scripts, and key messages for townhalls and flagship events
- Partner with leadership to shape narratives aligned with business strategy
- Branding (Environmental, OOH & Campus)
- Lead internal branding across office environments (wall graphics, experience zones, signage)
- Drive external branding including Out-of-Home (OOH) initiatives, campus branding, and marketing assets to strengthen Synchrony’s position as an employer of choice
- Act as the local custodian for global brand guidelines, ensuring every asset from digital banners to large-scale hoardings meets high aesthetic and compliance standards.

- Plan and execute integrated campaigns across internal and external channels
- Manage content calendars and ensure timely delivery of assets
- Track engagement metrics and optimize campaigns
- Create newsletters, reports, and communication dashboards
- Stakeholder & Agency Management
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior stakeholders
- Collaborate with HR, business teams, and global partners
- Manage creative agencies and vendors for quality and efficiency
- Oversee execution from ideation to delivery
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in communications, Marketing, Media, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Corporate Communications, Branding, or Internal Marketing; or in lieu of a degree, 4 years of relevant experience in similar domain.
- The Narrative-Visual Blend: A rare mix of world-class writing skills and a high "Design IQ." You must know how to direct creative teams to achieve a premium look and feel.
- PowerPoint Mastery: Advanced ability to build visual-heavy, "story-led" decks for C-suite audiences.
- Campaign Management: Proven experience in running multi-channel internal/external marketing campaigns with measurable engagement.
- Stakeholder Management: Confidence and poise to work closely with Leadership Team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good grip on Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, or video editing tools.
- Portfolio: Candidates must be able to showcase examples of hype campaigns, leadership decks, or physical branding projects they have led
Desired Skills/Knowledge:
- Experience in Employer Branding or Recruitment Marketing
- Familiarity with digital engagement platforms
Eligibility Criteria: Bachelor's or master's degree in communications, Marketing, Media, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Corporate Communications, Branding, or Internal Marketing; or in lieu of a degree, 4 years of relevant experience in similar domain.
Work Timings: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM IST
This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs)
