Role Summary/Purpose:

Reporting to the VP, Strategic Card Solutions, the AVP, Lead Agile Marketing Product Owner leads and develops a team of Product Owners responsible for delivering Plastic marketing products and capabilities—including card package and card design strategies, inventory readiness, strategic kit and envelope package options, and alternative fulfillment approaches (including no-card solutions). This role translates product strategy into actionable roadmaps, ensuring delivery aligns to client needs, platform integration requirements, and regulatory/compliance obligations.

Partnering closely with Synchrony client teams representing multiple Synchrony clients—as well as technology, operations, compliance, and vendor partners—this leader drives Agile best practices, predictable delivery, and audit-ready outcomes across the plastics product portfolio.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Own and translate plastics product strategy into team-level roadmaps and prioritized backlogs spanning card package/design, inventory, strategic kit and envelope package options, and alternative fulfillment approaches.
  • Lead and directly manage a team of 3–4 Agile Marketing Product Owners/resources who work directly with clients; coach on product ownership standards, Agile practices, and delivery execution in a regulated environment.
  • Facilitate and oversee Agile routines (backlog refinement, prioritization, sprint feedback) and drive adoption of Agile best practices across marketing teams.
  • Partner with Synchrony client teams to translate business strategy into requirements and sequencing; manage tradeoffs across competing priorities.
  • Collaborate regularly with technology, operations, compliance, and vendor partners to drive platform integrations and end-to-end delivery.
  • Manage cross-team dependencies and risks; proactively remove blockers tied to integration constraints, inventory/process gaps, or execution readiness.
  • Ensure compliance and regulatory requirements are embedded in backlog items and delivery plans; coordinate with compliance teams on validation and audit readiness.
  • Drive data-informed delivery and optimization by incorporating performance insights into prioritization and iteration planning.
  • Track and communicate delivery KPIs (e.g., sprint velocity/capacity utilization, backlog readiness, on-time delivery of compliance items, dependency resolution time, and team engagement/development metrics) to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support additional duties and special projects, as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. In lieu of a degree, HS diploma/GED 7+ years experience partnering with processing and/or card ecosystem platforms and partners in support of marketing-related system designs, integrations, and/or customer communications
  • 3+ years of product ownership/product management experience (marketing, customer communications, or regulated fulfillment products preferred).
  • 2+ years of people management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional delivery in regulated environments with strong process discipline and attention to detail.
  • Experience partnering with processing and/or card ecosystem platforms and partners in support of marketing-related system designs, integrations, and/or customer communications.
  • Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required

Desired Characteristics:

  • MBA and/or specialization in finance and/or technology.
  • Experience with TSYS, First Data, Fiserv
  • Experience scaling Agile practices within marketing, customer communications, or operations-adjacent teams.
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills with comfort operating in a matrixed organization supporting multiple clients.
  • Familiarity with creative/marketing workflow tools and platforms (e.g., Adobe and/or Salesforce) a plus.
  • Proven track record of developing talent and building high-performing, engaged teams.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and team leadership skills.

Grade/Level: 11

The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
