Role Summary/Purpose:
Help Synchrony accelerate responsible AI adoption by creating an exceptional employee experience around AI. As the VP, AI Enablement, you will lead the enterprise programs, communications, communities, and change initiatives that help associates understand, access, and use AI tools effectively in their day-to-day work.
Reporting to the Chief AI Officer, you will serve as the connective tissue between AI strategy and workforce adoption - partnering closely with legal, compliance, risk, marketing, communications, HR, technology, business leaders, and internal community champions to drive responsible AI enablement across the organization.
You are an enterprise change leader who understands how to translate emerging technology into practical employee behaviors, durable adoption programs, and compelling stories. You bring strong judgment, executive presence, creativity, communications discipline, and the ability to coordinate across control functions while keeping employees engaged, informed, and confident.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead enterprise AI enablement programs that help associates understand, access, and responsibly use approved AI tools and capabilities in their daily work.
- Develop and execute the AI employee experience strategy, including adoption journeys, communications, engagement moments, role-based enablement, feedback channels, and measurement plans.
- Drive rollout of AI tools and priority use cases across the organization, ensuring launch readiness, stakeholder alignment, associate-facing guidance, adoption support, and post-launch learning loops.
- Partner closely with legal, compliance, risk, privacy, technology, marketing, communications, HR, learning, and business teams to ensure enablement initiatives are responsible, aligned, and easy for associates to understand and act on.
- Manage the internal AI community focused on enablement, including champion networks, learning forums, office hours, success stories, peer-to-peer knowledge sharing, and community activation campaigns.
- Create practical enablement materials, playbooks, FAQs, responsible-use guidance, launch kits, leader toolkits, demos, and engagement content that make AI tools useful and approachable for different associate audiences.
- Work with business leaders and AI teams to identify, package, and scale high-value AI use cases that improve productivity, employee experience, customer outcomes, and operational effectiveness.
- Define and track adoption and engagement metrics, including tool usage, participation, sentiment, community activity, use case activation, learning engagement, barriers to adoption, and qualitative feedback.
- Support external AI marketing and thought-leadership topics in partnership with marketing, communications, legal, compliance, and executive stakeholders, ensuring messaging is accurate, responsible, and aligned with Synchrony’s AI strategy.
- Develop internal storytelling that highlights responsible AI adoption, associate wins, business impact, lessons learned, and practical examples of how AI can improve work across the enterprise.
- Coordinate enterprise AI enablement events, demos, roadshows, showcases, community sessions, communications campaigns, and leadership engagement moments.
- Prepare executive-ready updates for the Head of AI and senior stakeholders, clearly articulating adoption progress, employee engagement, communications activity, risks, opportunities, decisions needed, and next priorities.
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 10+ years of experience in employee experience, enterprise enablement, change management, communications, marketing, learning, transformation, technology adoption, or strategic program leadership; in lieu of a degree, 12+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven track record designing and scaling enterprise adoption programs for new tools, digital capabilities, emerging technologies, or new ways of working.
- Experience partnering across legal, compliance, risk, privacy, marketing, communications, HR, technology, and business functions in a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of AI, generative AI, automation, collaboration tools, employee productivity technologies, and responsible-use concepts sufficient to lead enablement credibly across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to build compelling communications, practical enablement materials, executive narratives, launch plans, playbooks, and adoption campaigns.
- Experience building or managing employee communities, champion networks, ambassador programs, learning forums, or communities of practice.
- Strong change management and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority and align senior leaders, control partners, and associate audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including executive-level storytelling, employee-facing messaging, and translation of complex AI topics into clear, practical guidance.
- Data-driven orientation with experience defining adoption metrics, analyzing engagement trends, capturing feedback, and using insights to improve programs.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and at pace, with strong judgment, prioritization, creativity, and the discipline to bring structure to fast-moving AI enablement work.
- Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required
Desired Characteristics:
- Experience leading AI, generative AI, data, analytics, digital workplace, automation, or employee productivity adoption programs is strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting external marketing, public relations, executive thought leadership, or brand storytelling related to technology, innovation, data, or AI.
- Experience in financial services, banking, payments, credit, or another highly regulated industry.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Copilot, Teams communities, SharePoint, Viva, Power BI, learning platforms, survey tools, and other employee engagement or adoption analytics platforms.
