Role Summary/Purpose:

Drives and streamlines MSF enablement across workstreams. Leads/owns the ongoing business projects/requests associated with enablement of MSF for SYF partners. Partners with cross-functional teams to maintain a current participation list. (Ex. Enablement testing, closures, etc.)

The AVP, MSF Enterprise Enablement will lead client enablement of for Synchrony MultiSource Financing capabilities, inclusive of company-hosted and 3rd party hosted products.

This individual will serve as the SME for MSF enablement processes across the enterprise, and will partner with IT, Legal, Compliance, Fraud, Credit, Commercial, and Core Distribution teams to drive flawless execution as we continually expand MSF footprint in the market. Reporting to the VP, MSF POS Solutions, this role requires strong project/program management skills, strong technical knowledge of enablement capabilities and process, and cross-functional influencing and team-building skills.

The role will drive activities across multiple functions, workstreams and teams toward the successful on-time completion of MSF enablement for key clients. The role will provide program leadership, oversight and governance and will work successfully across all levels of the organization including program teams, sponsors, steering committees, and executive/senior leaders.  A successful candidate is comfortable with ambiguity, can operate in a fast-moving, agile environment, and is a team player who collaborates well cross functionally, acting as an owner and proactively taking initiative.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Program Manager/Subject Matter Expert for the technical, business and customer experience aspects of client MSF enablement

    • Cross-reference market intelligence, client needs, cross functional feedback to generate market assessments that identify product needs and opportunities
    • Partner with Commercial, Marketing, and Learning teams to ensure the right tools, content, training are in place for internal and external teams
    • Act as the point of engagement for Compliance and Legal to ensure all enablements adhere to external and internal compliance and regulatory requirements
    • Support product roadmaps by executing on strategic client enablement and ensuring high quality of delivery
  • Lead the coordination, execution, testing, and delivery of client MSF enablement across the enterprise

    • Own and oversee the execution of MSF enablement strategy, ensuring multiple agile teams are aligned, roadblocks are identified and overcome to meet on-time delivery
    • Partner with broader MSF team to develop and align on enablement requirements to meet the customer, client and business objectives—help drive alignment with MSF OKRs and agile build/timing
    • Partner closely with technology program leaders and agile train leadership to drive execution of client enablement from requirement development through prioritization, testing, and launch
    • Provide leadership and own the escalation point for all issues that might arise across functional teams in assigned workstreams
    • Develop and manage rigorous project management and control plans, working closely with process owners, subject matter experts, project sponsors, champions, and senior management to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget
  • Serve as the enablement leader for assigned clients/programs

    • Partner with cross-functional teams to align and optimize enablement processes
    • Partner with the AVP, PM, MSF Enterprise Integration to ensure that enablement processes are inclusive of optimized merchant, practice, dealer needs
    • Effectively navigate cross-functional requirements associated with enablement to remove roadblocks, solicit support and keep client enablement moving forward
    • Manage and coordinate system requirement processes, such as MFA and password updates, with ASTRA, data analytics, IT, agile teams, etc.
  • Support MSF enablement across company-hosted and third-party hosted environments, and foster collaborative partnerships that drive business growth

    • Manage and coordinate efforts to facilitate seamless enablement of clients
    • Evaluate and qualify enablement requests to minimize disruptions and maximize efficiency
    • Contribute to the business strategy by identifying optimal MSF capabilities that meet specific client needs to maximize client satisfaction and overall program success
  • Strong communication skills and executive presence are key – provide updates to senior leaders and other internal and external stakeholders on integration project statuses on a regular basis
  • Travel to Synchrony Hubs and client locations as needed to lead discovery sessions, project kick-off meetings, work-out sessions, etc.
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or, in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma/GED and 6 years of marketing or product experience in the credit card or financial services industries
  • 4+ years project management, product management, and/or technical enablement experience:

    • A proven track record of launching new products or applications with demonstrated business impact
    • Ability to influence and coordinate multi-functional teams
  • 3+ years experience in financial services
  • Experience managing complex initiatives and projects in a matrixed, high speed, and quickly changing business environment
  • Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong agile experience, preferably in product management
  • Outstanding communications, relationship building, influencing and collaboration skills
  • 3+ years quality/process improvement experience, with relevant examples that improved business performance and customer experience
  • Advanced problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions in a quickly changing environment
  • Current on financial services, payments industry trends, competitors, emerging technologies and companies
  • Strong UX / customer experience focus
  • Experience working with partners and vendors, where negotiation skills are required
  • Proactive, self-starter with a high degree of self-initiation

Grade/Level: 11

The salary range for this position is 90,000.00 - 155,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

At Synchrony, our way of working allows you to have the option to work from home near one of our Hubs or come into one of our offices. You will be required to commute to your nearest Hub (either virtual or physical) for in-person engagement activities such as regular business or team meetings, training and culture events. 

*Field Sales and some Commercial team roles may have varied location requirements based upon partner obligations or preferences.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older
  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
