Cindy is opening doors for Hispanic talent

Cindy Miranda is currently the SVP, Client Initiatives at Synchrony, where she leads the discovery, planning and prioritization of products for digital client portfolios. She’s been with Synchrony for more than 20 years and previously held roles in technology – bringing her technical expertise to her current goal of embedding Synchrony’s financial products into the customer experience and ensuring a positive outcome.

Cindy attributes her career success to “Advocating for myself, having the support of my network, and saying ‘yes’ to new challenges.”

Because of the value Cindy has seen in her network, she has been an active member of our Hispanic Network+ throughout her career and is currently the leader of the network. Here, she plays an integral role in engaging employees who are part of the network. With more than 2,000 members who are Hispanic, as well as allies, HN+ plays a pivotal role in providing community for our members. Whether you join to learn, to grow your career or to expand your professional network, HN+ can provide all of that for the Hispanic community within Synchrony.

“Where I’ve seen the greatest impact is on our employees shaping and elevating the conversation and the programming. All it takes is raising your hand and saying, ‘I think this is missing,’ and we’ll create it.”

Mentorship is an important objective for Cindy, and it’s just one of the ways she helps uplift the next generation of Hispanic talent. Through our leadership programs, HN+ programming and informal networking, Cindy mentors employees at Synchrony, helping them gain the necessary skills and experience to help them grow professionally.

“We equip them with all of the developmental tools and resources and opportunities to get the exposure they need so that they can be recognized and considered for opportunities that can very much grow their careers.”

Beyond mentorship, Cindy has been instrumental in supporting Synchrony’s Advancing Diverse Talent Initiative, which takes a data-driven approach to identify gaps in our workforce and approach hiring, developing and promoting diverse talent differently to move the needle in our workforce demographics.

Cindy is also involved in uplifting Hispanic and Latinx communities through her involvement in the Latinx Executive Alliance, a coalition of companies that are dedicated to supporting and elevating Latinx talent. Synchrony is a founding member of this organization because we saw a large gap for the Latinx community. The advisory council is comprised of Hispanic executives from like-minded companies, coming together to help advance Hispanic talent into executive ranks. Since forming the coalition of business leaders over a year ago, we have more than 1,000 members around the country who collaborate, share best practices and deepen professional networks.
